Training
All our training programs are tailored and detailed to fit
your individual needs and goals for the dog and handler.
Feather Hill's Kennel offers several different training options. We offer a basic 1 month obedience training teaching your dog to come, stay, sit, heel and down.
All gun dog training programs are usually a three month
minimum. We offer a beginning, intermediate and advance programs.
The beginners program includes introduction to birds, ducks, water, gun fire, whistle, obedience and tracking. The intermediate program focuses on force breaking and steadiness. The advance program works on backing and steadiness along with water work.
At the end of each dog's training program we ask the owner or handler to attend training sessions with us in order to train them. The owner/handler is shown the training methods used and how to maintain the training on their own.
Lastly we offer minimum one hour private training sessions for a dog and handler at $25.00 per hour plus birds.
We also train dogs in preparation for NAVHDA Natural
Ability, Utility and Invitational tests along with AKC Junior, Senior and Master Hunter tests.
